Wrong With Me

Wrong With Me is a sharp, dark comedy written and produced by and for Louisville. From the cynical lows of the doldrums to the electric rush of mania, this family delves into the real struggles with mental illness today. The script is based on interviews of local people with Depression and Bipolar Disorder. The play is being produced through U of L’s Studio Theatre as part of an event kindly sponsored by Campus Health Services and in conjunction with DBSA Louisville. And, there will be fun.

We conducted the interviews throughout the past year with support from the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Louisville. We interviewed members and community members, families, doctors, therapists, and artists. We then developed the play and built this piece with the fabulous cast, Blair Boyd, Beth Burrell, Ebony Jordan, Cara McHugh and Nick Potter as well as the renaissance talents of lighting-designer/sound-designer/fight-choreographer/stage-manager, Jake Beamer.
